Safety Plans, 2017: An exploration of existence on the fringe as a queer, poor artist living with mental illness. A performance that draws from Escarciga’s background in Butoh, text derived from hospital journal entries, and, like, a really good sense of humor to critique mental healthcare in the U.S. and allow for a glimpse into an often stigmatized reality.
